Last night, Evgeny Romasko of Tver, Russia has worked his first regular NHL season game when the Edmonton Oilers visited the Detroit Red Wings at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI.
He was joined on the ice by fellow referee Paul Devorski, linesmen Derek Amell and Steve Barton. Evgeny became the first Russian and second European to work an NHL game Monday night. Romasko is married with two children – a four-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. He left his family at home in Tver, a city about 2 ½ hours northwest of Moscow but they plan on moving in North America next season.
The NHLOA and it’s members would like to congratulate Evgeny on his first NHL game and wish him a long and successful career.
Well done Evgeny!
