

Alan Glaspell
Al was born in Oshawa, Ontario May 30. 1943.
He played Junior B Hockey in Bowmanville, Ontario and Junior A in Oshawa. Following his Junior Hockey career Al became keenly interested in Officiating. While attending the Vern Buffey Referee School in Haliburton, he caught the attention of Frank Udvari & Bruce Hood who recommended him to the NHL Referee-in-Chief Scotty Morrison. Al signed with the NHL in 1969 as a Linesman. He worked the AHL Calder Cup Finals in 1971 & 72.
Al signed, in 1973,with the WHA as a Referee/Linesman. During this time he worked on the Lines in the Finals (Avco Cup Winnipeg – Quebec) the 1979 International AllStar Series between Moscow Dynamo and the WHA AllStars in Edmonton, AB.
Al currently resides in Bowmanville, Ontario with his Wife Debbie and their family.
