Kendrick talks about his NHL debut in Ottawa

Radio Interview with NHLOA Member Kendrick Nicholson on his NHL debut.

By Fred Wallace, Bayshore Broadcasting.

Former Sauble Beach resident Kendrick Nicholson is pursuing full time work as a National Hockey League referee.

After a lengthy term in the Ontario Hockey League as a linesman, Nicholson rocketed up the referee’s ladder in the OHL and made his National Hockey League debut January 17th at Ottawa in a game the Senators lost 3-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes.

By pure coincidence, Fred Wallace was at the Senators-Carolina game that night and was able to witness Nicholson’s debut.

NHL policy restricts game officials from media requests early in their careers, but after a second outing officiating a game between St Louis & Columbus in early February, the NHL coordinated an interview with Kendrick Nicholson pertaining to his NHL debut.
