Pierre Lambert – First NHL Game

Referee Lambert to work his first game tonight in Buffalo

Tonight, AHL/NHL referee Pierre Lambert from St-Hubert, QC will be working his first Regular Season NHL Game when the Tampa Bay Lightning visit the Buffalo Sabres at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY.

He will be joined on the ice by fellow referee Kevin Pollock while Brad Kovachik and Shandor Alphonso will be working the lines. Lambert played hockey until he hit the Junior A ranks. His father convinced him to become a referee in order to learn to be a better skater but found he enjoyed officiating more than playing.

He began his career officiating at the Midget AAA level before joining the QMJHL at 22-years-old. He spent three seasons in the “Q” and worked the 2013 Presidents Cup Final. Lambert was then promoted to the ECHL where he spent three years, refereeing the Kelly Cup Final in each of them. Last season the 28-year-old officiated in 68 games in the AHL before receiving his call up this summer.

The NHLOA and its members would like to congratulate Pierre on his first NHL game and wish him a long and successful career.
