This afternoon (1PM) in Buffalo, linesman Tim Nowak will be celebrating his 1,500th NHL Regular Season Game at the KeyBank Center when the Florida Panthers visit the Buffalo Sabres. Nowak made his NHL debut in October of 1993. Just like referee Kelly Sutherland last week, Nowak worked his 1,500th Regular Season Game in the last weeks of last season and also decided to wait for this year to celebrate with friends and family. Today’s game is actually Nowak’s 1,514th and will put him in a very select group of officials by reaching this incredible milestone.
Entering his 23rd year of service with the National Hockey League this year, the Maryland resident will be celebrating this important milestone where it all began for him in his hometown of Buffalo N.Y.
Having the privilege of working this special assignment with Tim will be Referees Mike Leggo and Tom Kowal while his partner on the lines will be veteran linesman Scott Driscoll.
The NHLOA would like to congratulate linesman Tim Nowak on this outstanding achievement.
