GRAEDY HAMILTON

Hamilton, a proud Native of Duncan, British Columbia got his start in officiating at age 14 looking to get some extra ice time with the Cowichan Valley Minor Hockey Association.

By 16 years old while still playing minor hockey in the Cowichan Valley he realized he had a passion for serving the game and shifted his focus to pursuing officiating when he began working at the junior B level on Vancouver Island.

In 2017 he had the opportunity to begin his career as a referee in the British Columbia Hockey league where he would go on to spend 6 seasons. After attending the WHL officiating development camp in June of 2018 he began his career in the Western League in the fall of 2019 where he would spend 4 seasons.

The summer of 2021 brought him an opportunity to attend the NHL Exposure Combine and his start in the AHL the following October where he would spend 2 seasons while still officiating in the WHL and BCHL.

During the 2022 campaign he had the opportunity to officiate at the World Junior Championships in Halifax N.S. & Moncton N.B. where he worked in the bronze medal game, a personal highlight for him.

Hamilton remains passionate about giving back to the game of hockey at the grass roots level wherever he can. Hamilton was offered a NHL Minor League referee contract by Director of Officiating Stephen Walkom in the Summer of 2023
