Biography
Garrett has been a member of the NHL Officiating staff since August 2014, before that he officiated in the AHL and OHL, and also played hockey for his hometown Elmira Sugar Kings and the University of Waterloo Warriors. Garrett attended the University of Waterloo on a golf scholarship; while in school he was a two-time OUA individual champion and four-time OUA all-star. From 2012-14 he was a member of Golf Canada’s National Amateur Team, in 2012, he finished second at the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship where a win would have earned him entry into the 2013 Masters. In 2014, he finished sixth at the Canadian Amateur Championship and second at the U.S. Players Amateur Championship. In 2015, he won the Canadian Mid-Amateur Championship which earned him a spot in the 2015 RBC Canadian Open.
